Estimating Value

When is your load too small to be worth selling?

Short answer: A load is too small when the money you would receive is less than the cost in fuel, time and effort of selling it, which is roughly a few kilograms of low-value steel or aluminium but a much smaller amount of copper or brass, so combine small loads, wait until you have a worthwhile amount or choose a buyer who collects, because a tiny load sold on its own often barely covers the trip.

Metal matters

A small amount of copper can be worth more than a lot of steel.

Wait for more, or have the buyer come to you.
